Most owners know untrained dogs get distracted easily. This, along with an untrained owner, makes it difficult for either to learn. Certified Canine camp programs range from two to eight weeks and are to tailored to the dog's personality and the owner's goals. During these camp programs, the dog stays with us for the entire time and is trained by one of our certified professional trainers. Once your dog understands the commands for obedience training, the distractions are added slowly and repetitively.
This style of training allows the dog to learn very quickly and easily. The owner is instructed to watch 2 short videos on our website at the time the dog is dropped off, they talk about our philosophy, training , and instruction of techniques that they will need to learn to reinforce what their dog will have mastered. After the dog's training is complete, the owner is trained in a series of follow-up private lessons. These lessons are unlimited for as long as you have your dog. This is a life time guarantee!
EVALUATION ($75.00 + TAX During an evaluation you will be asked a series of questions that will help us understand the environment your dog lives in and what kind of issues you are experiencing with your dog. We will help you to understand what may be causing your dog's behavioral problems and which of our programs would best help you address those issues. It also gives you a chance to meet the Certified Canine Professionals and see the environment that your dog would be in during training. If you have concerns about leaving your dog with someone for training this is a good place to start.
PUPPY CONSULTATION ($75.00 + TAX How your puppy is handled, trained and treated is crucial in making him the very best adult dog he can be. In this consultation, you will learn how to make your puppy love you and open the door to his future potential. You will be instructed on dealing with behavioral problems such as play biting, jumping up, house breaking and chewing to name a few. During this consultation, you will be taught how to properly work through these issues. Puppyhood can be a fun and exciting time for both the puppy and the owner if the owner understands puppy behavior and how to properly teach what is right and wrong
PUPPY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ($400.00 PER WEEK + TAX) This program is designed for 8-12 week old puppies and can be from 1 to 4 weeks or adjusted if longer is needed. Getting puppies off to the right start can make a big difference throughout their lives. This in home program is one where your puppy would live with us in our home with our cats and children. They also come to work with us at our facility each day. During their stay with us we will begin crate training them. We will get up with them in the middle of the night as needed until they are sleeping through the night. Crate training is an important part of house breaking and a tool for working through many other unwanted behaviors. Along with crate training and house breaking we will work on play biting, walking on a leash, chewing issues, socializing, possessiveness, jumping up, introduction to household appliances, excessive barking and many other behavioral problems. During the time your puppy is with us we start the process of domestication. Remember your new puppy is a wild animal that only will do what is instinctive to them. So to help him become a good family member and canine citizen we have to teach him the basics in a way that he can understand. TWO WEEK OBEDIENCE CAMP ( For dogs under 6 months old) $1230.OO + TAX Designed for owners who would like their dogs to be more compatible with THEIR lifestyle rather than the other way around. The candidates are owners with a busy household, with people coming and going and those who like to take their dog with them when they leave the house.
Your dog will stay at camp for a minimum of 14 days. During this time, your dog will be taught the following commands: heel, automatic sit, sit and down at the side, sit and down in motion, sit and down from the front, come and place. These are all taught on-leash with training done indoors. Your dog will hold his commands and respond to come without holding the leash.
Training for the owner normally consists of three lessons. The first is a video lesson viewed online. The video will teach you proper leash handling techniques, proper use of commands, when to praise and when not to praise, how dogs think and learn, how to work through behavioral problems and other techniques needed to reinforce what your dog has learned. The second lesson is the day your dog goes home. At this lesson, you will actually start working with your dog under the trainer's supervision. The third lesson is a follow up to check on progress and to work on any problem areas you may need help with. This obedience camp includes unlimited lifetime of private lessons.
THREE WEEK OBEDIENCE CAMP ($1995.00 +TAX)
This program incorporates all the disciplinary elements of the two-week program but introduces your dog to the e-collar for in-home behavioral issues such as: counter surfing, barking, jumping up, chewing, play biting, charging the door, various forms of territorial aggression, and social issues. This gives the owner the ability and ease of being able to correct these and other behavioral issues indoors without a leash. This program is uniquely tailored to the goals of the owner and the personality of the dog. The program fee includes the Dogtra electronic collar. This obedience camp includes unlimited lifetime of private lessons .
FOUR WEEK OBEDIENCE CAMP ($2500.00 +TAX) Designed for those who want complete control of their dog, both on- and off-leash. Whether you have a hunting dog and you want off-leash control in the woods, or a family pet walking in the park, this program will give you control. This is our more advanced program.
Your dog will be taught the same commands as the three week program with the addition of sit from down. This program includes a Dogtra electronic collar. You will be given your collar and trained on its proper use at your first follow up lesson. Electronic collars work great to reinforce something a dog already knows but are not good to teach with. Your dog will be introduced to the collar in the 3rd week of training in a way that is very gradual and not harmful. All of our programs have unlimited follow up lessons for the life of the dog. The owner's first lesson is given when you pick up your dog. This obedience camp includes unlimited lifetime of private lessons.
SERVICE DOG TRAINING: All service dogs are not the same. So at Certified Canine Services we break it down into segments to help potential customers understand what it might take to train their individual service dog. We will develop a program catered to your disabilities. Every service dog starts by completing a 4 week obedience program. This is where the language that you will use to communicate with your dog is installed. This is the foundation for every service dog that we train.
The next important part of every service dogs training is public access. This is where the dog learns how it should act in public places. It is taught what is appropriate behavior in public and what is not. Any service dog by law can be asked to leave a public place like a store or restaurant if it is causing problems. We believe too some extent service dogs should be invisible. This part of the training can normally be completed in 2 weeks. During that time your dog will be going with one of our trainers to a variety of places that may include movie theaters, restaurants, stores, malls, sporting events, parades, family events etc. If you suffer from PTSD or any like emotional disorders this program would be all the training needed.
The next part of the training is where we begin to individualize and cater the training to the owners disability. This is called TASK training. A task could be pulling a wheel chair, retrieving things off the floor, opening doors, having a harness with a support handle for balance work, diabetic detection work, turning lights on and off etc. Length of time for training tasks varies depending on how complicated the task is and the dogs ability to learn new things. The more your dog likes to work the better! We normally break task training down into 2 week increments.
With all of our service dog programs you and your dog will complete the CGC test at our facility and be given a certificate showing they have completed a service dog program. All of our trainers have attended National K9 school for dog trainers that was created by Scott Mueller who was a pioneer in training the first service dogs in the United States. We've been trained by the best now you can too!

SERVICE DOG TASK TRAINING: This programs price varies depending on the task being taught and the amount of owners participation. A basic service dog program must be completed prior to starting task training. Please call for estimated pricing on the tasks you need your dog to preform.
SERVICE & THERAPY DOG EVALUATION: $100.00 (NO SALES TAX) Want to use your own dog? Not all dogs can become service dogs, just like all dogs aren't good for hunting. We always say that there are no absolutes when it comes to working with dogs but after training well over 5000 dogs I think we know dogs! We know how to push your dogs buttons to see if he or she has what it takes to be a service dog. Call and set up a service dog evaluation and let us take a look. We also can help you locate and evaluate a puppy that would be a great service dog for you.
THERAPY DOG TRAINING: $3750.00 + Tax Therapy dog training is very similar to service dog training. Our approach for therapy dogs starts with our 4 week obedience program. This is where the language that you will use to communicate with your dog is taught to them. This program is the foundation for every service and therapy dog we train. Then depending on what your therapy dog is going to be doing, for example working in a school, nursing home, making visits to hospitals, going to work with you as a counselor or therapist at your practice we will begin that training tailored to the job they will be doing. This part of the training last a 2 weeks. With all of our Therapy dog programs you and your dog will complete the CGC test at our facility and be given a certificate showing they have completed a therapy dog program. Included with this programs a therapy dog vest with patches, leather leash, Dogtra e-collar, unlimited follow up lessons at our facility and we also include a staff training day at the facility the dog will be working.
With all our programs, the owner must work at home to change patterns and habits for themselves as instructed by the trainer. Remember, the dog is not the only one being trained.
